The low voltage circuit breaker is such a switching device that it can close, carry, and break current under normal circuit conditions and it can close as well as carry and break current under abnormal loop conditions, including short circuit, within a prescribed time.
This device can be used to distribute electric power, start asynchronous motor infrequently, as well as protect power lines and motors. When serious overload, undervoltage, short circuit or other fault arises, the low voltage circuit breaker can automatically cut off the circuit. It is equivalent to the combination of a fuse switch and a thermal relay in function. Also, after breaking the fault current, it is generally not needed to change the parts.
